How to Cook with Tempeh

Country Kitchen

Fri 20 Sep 2024 4:00 PM to 4:50 PM

Presenter: Kate Musser Tootie's Tempeh
Talk Description: Trying to eat more local and plant-forward? Kate and Matt of Tootie's Tempeh, a premium tempeh-maker from Biddeford, Maine, will share the magic of how tempeh is made and fermented and then demonstrate several easy recipes with their traditional and curry seasoned tempeh. Tempeh, originally from Indonesia, is a versatile, high protein, fermented, and nutrient dense superfood. Tootie's sources their beans from Maine and regional organic farmers and is a worker-owned cooperative. Their fermentation process is different - they don't use plastic bags to ferment the beans, so it's more sustainably made and delicious—plus it doesn't have the bitter after-taste that tempeh often has.
