Talk Description: Specialty potato varieties are bringing more culinary diversity to Maine's fresh market potato industry, while creating new market opportunities for Maine's specialty crop producers. UMaine Extension Sustainable Agriculture and Farm Business Management Educator, Brett Johnson, will deliver a talk exploring sustainable management practices in specialty potato production. This talk will be followed by a roundtable discussion where commercial producers are welcome to share about their experiences marketing these products. Information gathered will inform the University of Maine’s ongoing potato variety trialing efforts.
