WELCOME TO THE APPLICATION FOR SPEAKERS AND PRESENTERS AT THE 2024 COMMON GROUND COUNTRY FAIR

Please submit all presenter and topic information for each talk or presentation below. The Common Ground Country Fair is always held the 3rd weekend after the Labor Day holiday. The 2024 fair will be September 20, 21, and 22.

Please note, the deadline to submit an application to be a presenter at the 2024 Fair is Monday, April 15, 2024.

Talks and demonstrations are generally scheduled between 9:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. (5:00 p.m. on Sunday). Most talk slots are scheduled in 60 minute intervals, starting on the hour, with talks allocated 50 minutes. This provides a few minutes for the following speaker to get set-up and for the audience to turn over.

A/V Equipment (Projector & Screen)
Almost all of the speaker locations at the Fair are in tents, outdoors, and not all have electricity. Access to settings appropriate for presentations that rely on powerpoint or slides are limited. MOFGA does NOT provide laptop computers for presenters. If you have a slide presentation, you must provide your own computer and appropriate connectors.

Additional Needs/Comments/Special Instructions
We want to ensure diverse voices and reduce barriers to access for speakers.
If additional resources would help you participate, please check this box and we will follow-up.

Step 3 - Compensation
The Fair allocates one shirt per volunteer for the event, whether that be for presenting at the Fair or helping out with a volunteer shift. If you choose to volunteer please note that due to supply, we can only offer one shirt for a presentation with multiple speakers. To help us plan accordingly, select your size below.

Volunteer Presenter's T-Shirt Size
Presenters in the Agricultural and Livestock areas of the Fair who volunteer their presentation, rather than chose to receive a stipend, are eligible to receive a Fair t-shirt.

On a limited basis, small stipends are available to presenters of educational talks on agricultural topics. Generally, these are talks we schedule in the Agricultural and Livestock Demonstration. Given the space limitations in these locations, some of these talks may be scheduled other locations at the Fair, such as the Farm & Homestead or Agricultural Products area.

If your business or organization has applied for a booth in the Agricultural Demonstrations area, or you selected Agriculture, Livestock or Herb Tent as the category for your presentation, you may be eligible for a stipend. Presenters in these areas may elect to volunteer their presentation, in lieu of a stipend, and receive a t-shirt and a meal in the volunteers Common Kitchen.

If you selected the Country Kitchen Demos area, you are eligible for a small stipend to help cover the cost of you materials. Presenters in this area may elect to receive the stipend or to volunteer their presentation, in lieu of a stipend, and receive a t-shirt and a meal in the volunteers Common Kitchen.

If you selected the DIY #HomeHacks area, you may be eligible for a small stipend to help cover the cost of you materials. Presenters in this area may elect to receive the stipend or to volunteer their presentation, in lieu of a stipend, and receive a t-shirt and a meal in the volunteers Common Kitchen.
